The Wild Goose Fire, currently managed as a Type 2 Incident by a Complex Incident Management Team, is burning 12 miles northeast of Fillmore, Utah, in Millard County. Since starting on June 26, 2026, the fire has consumed 12,665 acres of federal timber land under the jurisdiction of the USFS.
With 328 personnel assigned to the effort, the fire is now 98 percent contained. Current fire behavior is characterized as minimal, with some creeping, smoldering, and isolated torching observed. The total cost to date for the active incident is $17,150,078.
