The Hastings Fire, which started on June 20, 2026, is now fully contained at 100 percent. Located 35 miles northwest of Dugway, Utah, near the city of Aragonite in Tooele County, the wildfire burned 26,355 acres of federal land managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The fire was determined to be human-caused, and its suppression costs reached an estimated $5,250,000.
Currently classified as a Type 5 Incident under the management of a Type 5 Incident Commander, the fire exhibits minimal behavior, characterized by creeping and smoldering. Eleven personnel remain on-site monitoring the area, where the primary fuel source is six-foot-tall chaparral.
