After burning for 39 days and expanding at an average rate of 35 acres per day, the Tower Fire is now fully contained. Located 31 miles southeast of Nephi, Utah, in Millard County, the blaze scorched 1,369 acres of federal land managed by the BLM. The incident, which was determined to be human-caused, reached a Type 3 complexity level before containment was finalized.
Fire activity has subsided to minimal levels, characterized by smoldering and isolated torching within the 6-foot chaparral fuel beds. A dedicated crew of 6 personnel oversaw the final stages of the operation, which incurred a total cost of $1,300,000 under Type 4 incident management.
