The Sycamore Fire, which started on June 15, 2026, is now 100 percent contained. Located on federal land managed by the U.S. Forest Service, the fire burned 11,939 acres approximately 15 miles north of Globe, Arizona, in Gila County. The naturally caused blaze is currently exhibiting minimal, creeping, and smoldering behavior as it burns through short grass fuels.
Classified as a Type 4 Incident, the fire is currently under the management of a Type 5 Incident Commander, with 12 personnel remaining on site. The total cost of the suppression efforts has reached $12,729,031.
