The Pocket Fire, currently active under the management of a Type 1 Complex Incident Management Team, has burned 27,451 acres of federal land. Located approximately seven miles north of Sedona in Yavapai County, Arizona, the fire began on June 20, 2026. Firefighters have established 74 percent containment on the blaze, which is burning primarily in short grass fuels. Currently, 1,106 personnel are assigned to the incident, and the total cost of suppression efforts has reached $47,884,550.
According to the U.S. Forest Service, the fire is exhibiting minimal behavior, characterized by backing, flanking, and creeping. Crews continue to work on securing the perimeter and monitoring the fire's activity to protect the surrounding area.
