The Rock Canyon Fire, which began on June 15, 2026, has been fully contained at 4,823 acres. Located 20 miles southeast of Fredonia, Arizona, in Coconino County, the blaze was determined to have a natural cause. Firefighters successfully brought the incident to 100% containment, with current fire behavior reported as minimal and smoldering within timber litter and understory fuels.
Managed by the Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) on state-owned land, the response was classified as a Type 3 Incident and is currently overseen by a Type 4 Incident Commander. A single personnel member remains assigned to the incident, which accumulated a total cost of $5,540,000.
