The Snyder Fire, currently a Type 4 incident, is burning on federal land managed by the Bureau of Land Management 13 miles west of Grand Junction, Colorado, in Grand County. Since its start on June 27, 2026, the blaze has consumed 30,202 acres of short grass fuel. Currently, the fire is active but exhibiting minimal, smoldering behavior.
A Complex Incident Management Team is overseeing the response, with 284 personnel assigned to the effort. The fire has reached 98 percent containment, and suppression efforts have cost approximately $7,580,106 to date.
