192 named fires are burning around the world right now, covering an estimated 1.8 million hectares by satellite estimate between them. The biggest is Collins, in Canada, at around 301,240 hectares. 310 new fires appeared this week, and the count is holding steady compared with a week ago.
Most of the activity is in Canada (47 active fires), United States (38) and Australia (13). France is having an unusually hard year: roughly 98,459 hectares so far, 567 % above its average.
