151 named fires are burning around the world right now, covering some 2 million hectares between them. The biggest is Collins, in Canada, at around 301,240 hectares. 306 new fires appeared this week, and the count is falling compared with a week ago.
Most of the activity is in Canada (47 active fires), United States (39) and Australia (3). France is having an unusually hard year: 98,248 hectares so far, 566 % above its average.
