H2 Fire (FL)

Burning across 350 acres of timber with grass and understory in Palm Beach, Florida, the active H2 Fire is currently 85 percent contained just six miles northwest of Deem City. State land is managed by a Type 5 Incident Command team consisting of three personnel from the DVF agency, fighting a natural fire that started on August 22, 2026.

With two days burning and an average daily growth of approximately 175 acres per day, the incident has registered four heat detections from NASA FIRMS over the past 48 hours, illustrating the localized spread of the fire front. Active fire behavior continues to be observed on the ground.

This event unfolds within the region's typical fire season, which runs from June to October. Nationally, the broader picture shows 3,005,648 hectares burned so far in 2026, marking a figure that is 45 percent below the two-decade average.
