The 3-1 PIT Fire, currently an active Type 3 incident, is burning on federal land managed by the BLM four miles southeast of Little Valley in Lassen County, California. Since its start on July 7, 2026, the fire has grown to 1,055 acres, with crews achieving 45 percent containment.

With a Type 3 Incident Commander overseeing operations, 729 personnel are currently assigned to the blaze. The fire, which is fueled by timber, grass, and understory, is exhibiting minimal behavior, and suppression efforts have reached a total cost of $4.4 million.
