The Willow Fire, currently an active Type 2 incident, is burning on federal land six miles west of Leadville in Lake County, Colorado. Since starting on June 28, 2026, the human-caused blaze has grown to 4,499 acres and is 22 percent contained. The USFS is managing the response with a Complex Incident Management Team and 737 personnel, with total costs reaching $11,570,618.
