Hagen Fire (Oregon)

Burning for 52 days with an average daily growth of approximately 1,181 acres per day, the Hagen Fire has expanded across 61,396 acres of federal timber land in Umatilla County, Oregon. Located 26 miles east of Pendleton, the active wildfire is managed by a Complex Incident Management Team directing 785 personnel under the United States Forest Service. Although the fire behavior is currently characterized as minimal, creeping, and smoldering, the incident has reached a Type 1 classification and accumulated $74,984,710 in costs while achieving 56 percent containment.

The natural-caused blaze is part of a broader regional fire season that typically spans from June to October. Across the country, 2026 has seen 3,178,795 hectares burned thus far, tracking 42 percent below the two-decade average.
