Spreading at an estimated rate of 1,250 acres per day over the past two days, the active CROWLEY Fire has scorched 2,500 acres of federal short grass land in Malheur County, Oregon, located 32 miles west of Jordan Valley. Active, backing, and smoldering fire behavior continues on the scene, where satellites have detected 14 heat signatures nearby indicating the extent of the spread.
A contingent of 33 personnel operating under a Type 3 Incident management structure has achieved 30 percent containment on the blaze, which started on July 23, 2026. The firefighting effort is managed by the BLM and has accumulated 300,000 dollars in costs.
