The Beehive Fire, currently an active Type 4 incident, is burning 12 miles northwest of Tres Piedras in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico. Since its start on June 26, 2026, the blaze has consumed 4,728 acres of federal timberland, characterized by grass and understory fuel. The fire is being managed by a Type 4 Incident Commander and has reached 96 percent containment.
Current fire behavior is reported as minimal, with smoldering and backing observed. There are 44 personnel assigned to the USFS-led operation, which has incurred total costs of $4,607,294.68.
