About wildfires in Spain

Spain is one of the most wildfire-affected countries in Europe, with Mediterranean climate conditions creating high fire risk during summer months. The country typically experiences its most intense fire season from June through September, with heat waves and drought amplifying the danger.

Galicia, Valencia, Andalusia, and Castilla y León are among the most fire-prone communities. The 2022 fire season was exceptionally severe, with major fires in Zamora, Valencia, and several other provinces. Spain's firefighting infrastructure includes aerial resources, ground crews, and the Military Emergency Unit (UME).

Our satellite tracker monitors all active fire hotspots across Spain's 17 autonomous communities and 50 provinces in real-time.
